Hello - my long lost blog readers!! It's been so long and you have been missed. I just uploaded pics from my camera and realized how long it has been since I have posted anything. So let me begin the quick recap of our lives.
Uncle Peter went with me to have a Thanksgiving Feast with Jackson's kindergarten class. A good time was had by all!
We had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving day that started off with a Turkey Bowl!! Kids were running around like maniacs and grown-ups returned to our youth in chasing each other and trying to take the football into the end zone. Too bad our bodies didn't return to our younger years - many of us thought that next year we may need a little Turkey Bowl condiitoning prior to the game.
And now December. Can it be that Christmas is two-ish weeks away?! Our tree is up and lights are on, but no ornaments are hung. Most packages are purchased however so at least we are ahead of the game there - many even wrapped!! And the holiday fesitivities have begun.
Making Christmas crafts:
Writing letters to Santa (and hoping foanything Star Wars and a Wii):
And December is trying new things - like rock climbing at the community center:
And taking a trip to Seattle to watch the Washington Huskies win at a sport (it's been a hard year for Husky football fans 0-12)
And the most recent activity - find the perfect tree at a lot. It's been a long time snce I bought a tree at a lot - in fact I don't remember ever doing that. But there is a first time for everything and this wasn't all bad (and it was cheaper than cutting the darn thing down ourselves!)
And just a couple of things for me to remember. Jackson and I got our hair cut this past Friday. There is a house in the same neighborhood as the salon that looks like a gingerbread house - all year long. Jackson said as we passed by it the other day that the people there must realy like Christmas because their house is decorated like that all year.
And last night as we walked the neighborhood to looks at all the Christmas light, Jackson said he really liked this season because he gets so much hot chocolate. The funny thing was he wasn't drinking hot chocolate at the time - and the kid gets hot chocolate year round at the local starbucks where they know him by name.
And when figuring out when, where and how we were going to get our tree this year Jackson really wanted to go to the place we went last year because they have the BEST hot chocolate. Which I guess he would know since he is a connoisseur - even if it was a packet of swiss miss.
This weekend is going to be full of adventure - the Nutcraker on Friday night, breakfast with Santa on Saturday morning and a trip o the North Pole via the Polar Express on Saturday night. Which reminds me - we saw on the news yesterday morning that snow flurries are expected this weekend - just in time for our trip with Santa. To which Jackson said of course there will be snow - we're going to the North Pole - you silly!
Merry Christmas!
