October is one of my favorite months of the year here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Cool crisp mornings, bright sunny days, football, soccer, our wedding anniversary, and of course the wonderful pumpkin patches.
Yesterday Jackson and I headed to Sauvie Island Pumpkin Patch with our friends Tara, Cory, Owen and Payton. It was a great day in terms of weather, cool with sun breaks, most importatly not raining nor too wet. We saw animals, rode a hay bale pulled by a tractor, searched for the perfect pumpkin, climbed to the top of a hay pyramid led by the fearless Ms. Payton, ate a hot dog and enjoyed some kettle corn. Can life be any more enjoyable than that? I think not!
Jackson was totally showing off his muscles to the lad-ies.
It was a great day!! I have to say, Jackson and I usually do pumpkin patches with our friends Mary-Dale, and being at the patch without them I felt like a cheater. We aren't sure if we are going to get to a patch with all of us (she might take Jackson next weekend), but I hope we do - it's tradition!
Also this weekend, Jackson has been training to become a Ninja Warrior. I'm not sure where this is coming from, but indeed he trained on Saturday night on my bed, and yesterday at the pumpkin patch he told Cory that he was half way through and climbing a tree was part of his training. On Saturday night he came downstairs to tell me "Mom, I've been training to become a Ninja and so far it's going really well". The way he said it cracked me up, totally serious and so proud that it had been going well.
