How long has it been you ask? Well, I'm not sure, but long enough. I know it's always been too long when Mike starts harassing me about it. So here we go.
I should have learned my lesson by now, Mike and I just surpassed our 11th wedding anniversary, so I should remember that when I want to go to the pumpkin patch to grab a couple of pictures in the beautiful fall weather that I should have prepped the boys a little better. Otherwise, we get there, silliness ensues followed quickly by a grumpiness because the bigger boy (and you know I mean my hubby) is picking on the little boy and before you know we leave the patch with not a great picture in the bunch. And when I get average possibly even cruddy pictures, this mama is not well pleased. So I should have learned my lesson by now.
Mike would probably say I should be glad he wasn't flipping me the bird when he had Jackson's eyes covered.
Don't take pictures when I'm not ready!!!
Closer, get closer!!!
And Jackson wanted in on the action with the picture taking.
And we have entered the era of the forced smile. And we decided this was the last time the young one we go in the wheel barrow....sniffle, sniffle.
But sometimes I capture an action shot, and it's not all bad. The "you have to be able to carry" rule means the pumpkins grow as much as my boy each year.
See - there you have it, proof positive that an attempt to take my family to the patch for a picture or two when I haven't set the ground rules results in silly photos. But also a memory or two about boys too big for wheel barrows and being able to pick bigger pumpkins than we did last year. I'll take 'em, cruddy pictures and all.
