We love the annual tradition of the pumpkin patch. We try to go at least once each year, but with any luck we go more than once (2009 here, and here, 2008 here. Our first trip this year was with MaryDale (as we affectionately call them) and Shawna and her boys. We hadn't gone to the patch together in about 2 years, so it was great connecting again.
We got there when the the farm opened, it's a good thing we did - the crowd was already forming. It was a BEAUTIFUL day - the kind of day we remember exactly why we live in the Pacific NW, bright warm sun, coolish, just perfect. That said, these bright days do make pictures a little less perfect - but it all works out.
Shawna's youngest Darren is just about the same age as Jackson and you can see it didn't take long for them to connect.

Rubber Ducky Derby.
Pumpkin Launch
See bright sun, squinty eyes and shadows. They boys had just finished the corn maze, us mom's got to sit by the fire and catch up - totally enjoyable!
Searching for just the right pumpkin.
FOUND!!
The BEST thing about going to the patch with girlfriends (as opposed to my hubby)?! They appreciate taking nice pictures. Thanks girls!!
And every pumpkin needs a good bath.
Another successful search for pumpkins, boys having fun, mom's enjoying getting together - life is good.
