It's official - the Halloween holiday is ending and that means that the "main" holiday season is quickly approaching. I was talking to Mike this weekend, saying that the crazy time is starting. And it's true I make myself a little crazy during the next two months. But I want to make these times memorable for Jackson, I want him to relish the memories of growing up - recall them with joy, you know like the perfect Hallmark moment. The trick is balancing that with my crazy - I don't want his focus to be how crazy I went this time of year - how unbearable I was. So I'm taking deep breaths, trying to keep up on things so they don't get ahead of me, trying to make sure we spend time doing important things, being together. But for now, let's wrap up this scary Halloween season.
I saw this cute cupcake idea and had to make some for myself. I said to Jackson as I was assembling these "I think these are the cutest things I have ever made" to which he said "What about me, mom"? Touche.
This was my cute little halloween-scape. I like the the black theme.
Saturday we had some friends over for pumpkin carving. This is Isaiah and his mom Michelle finding just the right pattern.
And silly boys (ok, well at least one silly boy - thanks Isaiah for taking a nice pic).
And Glenn and Nancy had great team work!! They worked together to get the template on the pumpkin, Nancy gutted and Glenn did some expert carving.
Mike was busy working on our pumpkins that never actually changed to orange - everyone thought we painted it green.
Isaiah is dedicated to his craft.
Noah was in on the action as well.
Working hard.
Completed pumpkins (L to R) Taggarts, Davids, Lombardis).
And the final results. Fun night, pumpkin guts and all.
And the next day was trick or treating. Jango Fett.
Silly kid.
That's my boy!
We stopped over to see my mom.
And we saw our friends David and Peter.
Grandma Sharon came for dinner. We took Jackson out trick or treating, hit a couple of houses around the neighborhood and Stella got in on the action too.
The weather was dry, we ran into some kids from school (yeah for neighbors!). Another one in the books.
