I love to have great food on vacation. Our first trip to Maui we found this great little spot called the Gazebo. We couldn't wait to get back this trip! This time we tried the fried rice and it was the best food EVER! Oh my gosh, I just craved it the whole trip - luckily we got it once more before we headed home. Best breakfast spot on Maui (OK, I haven't tried many others, but this has to be the best!)

We headed to a luau on vacation - it was a great time. Jackson was entranced with the fire and hula dancers. Jackson snapped this pic of Mike and I just before our long walk back to the hotel (we foolishly thought it couldn't be that long of a walk back - it was!)

Portland Timbers

2011 was the inaugural season of the Portland Timbers MLS team.  After experiencing a Seattle Sounder game in the summer of 2010 which was incredibly fun, we knew we wanted to be a part of the Timbers. 

The first home game in April was AMAZING!!  So much fun.

Jackson got picked out of the crowd to be part of an interview on the evening news!

We went to most of the games throughout the season.  Sometimes Mike took a friend, Jorge.

In May, we traveled to Seattle with the David Family to watch the big rivalry match.  It was a BLAST!!!

And in July, when Seattle Sounders came to Portland, the biggest Timbers fans were there to represent their Timber Pride.  

We even celebrated Jackson's birthday at t a Timber's game - he brought a couple of friends, and Mike got the boys set up with an autograph session after the game.  They met several players, and even got their picture with Darlington Nagbe.

And in October, the home season game to an end.  I can't believe we have to wait 6 months for the next home game, it will be a long winter.  The games are a blast!  I love when Jackson and Isaiah go - they crack me up how passionate they are.  And Jackson and his dad really connect when discussing this play or that.  

We took a ride the morning of the forth day, headed north of Kananpali. The road was curvy and this mama need a break from Mike's driving - so we pulled over to see this beautiful view.

We had the best boat adventure in Maui. We took a trip around the island of Lanai. Shipwrecks, sea turtles, spinner dolphins, Hawaiian Monk seals...yes sealS - 2 of them. Best money spent on the whole trip, so worth it.

The first morning we woke up in Hawaii we traveled to the top of Halealeakala (bless you - it was our running joke) and watched the beautiful sun rise over horizon. It was a beautiful site. And now was can say we did it, checked it off the bucket list.

I didn't post any of our Hawaii pictures to my blog, a travesty. This was day two, and Jackson was giving skim boarding a try. I think this is when he was determining his "approach". The kid was a fish is Hawaii - couldn't pull him out of the water, he swam and swam until hunger, tiredness and red, glassed over eyes took over.

Rejoining the digital age
